The Fire of Restoration

Devotional

Between two charcoal fires, a story of restoration unfolds. The first fire witnessed Peter’s darkest moment – his denial of Jesus. The second fire became the scene of his redemption. God often uses parallel moments in our lives to heal past wounds and restore broken relationships. He doesn’t ignore our failures but rather transforms them into testimonies of His grace. Just as Jesus specifically chose a charcoal fire for Peter’s restoration, He thoughtfully orchestrates moments in our lives where past pain can be redeemed.

Bible Verse

“When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.” – John 21:9

Reflection Question

What past failures or painful moments in your life might God be wanting to redeem for His glory?

Quote

God changes you and me between those two charcoal fires as he gives to us that gift of salvation and declares boldly when he was on that cross. It is paid in full, it is finished.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being a God of restoration. Help me trust You with my past failures and believe in Your power to transform them into testimonies of Your grace. Guide me toward moments of healing and renewal. Amen.
