Our Ongoing Story

Devotional

The parable of the prodigal son intentionally lacks an ending because it’s our story too. We are continually living out this narrative – sometimes as the younger son, sometimes as the older, but always under the watchful eye of our loving Father. The beauty of this story is that it’s not just about coming home once; it’s about discovering again and again the depths of God’s love and grace.

Bible Verse

‘You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.”‘ – Isaiah 12:1

Reflection Question

Which character in the prodigal son story do you most relate to right now, and what does that reveal about your relationship with God?

Quote

The parable had no closure. We don’t know what happened at the end of that story. And it’s not important because we become that parable.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your story of grace continues to unfold in my life. Help me to see myself honestly and to always run to Your open arms. Amen.
