Devotion 2 for Transfiguration Sunday
Devotional:
Sometimes we need a glimpse of glory to prepare us for life’s challenges. Jesus revealed His divine nature to His disciples not just to awe them, but to strengthen them for what lay ahead. He knew the path to Jerusalem would be difficult, and this revelation would serve as an anchor for their faith during dark times. In our own lives, God often provides moments of clarity and assurance before periods of trial. These experiences aren’t meant to be mountain-top moments we cling to forever, but rather fuel for the journey ahead.
Verse:
Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. – Hebrews 3:1-2
Question:
How have past experiences of God’s presence helped you through difficult times?
Quote:
And as the disciples walked through this miserable time of his rejection of his absolute crucifixion and all of the swirling doubts and fears and wonders and worries, they would know exactly who was with them and what he was doing.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Yourself to us. Help us remember Your glory when we face challenges. Give us strength for the journey ahead. Amen.
