This Wednesday March 5, 2025, starts our Lenten journey towards Easter Sunday. We are having a church service on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM like usual. There will be ashes for Pastor to put on your forehead if you would like. These ashes are from the palm leaves left over from last year. This marks the start of 40 days to Easter Sunday.
Another tradition is to have a soup and sandwich supper starting at 6:00 PM before these Lent Wednesday services. We are continuing this and have sign-up sheets for each Wednesday to sign up to bring a soup to share. People sometimes bring bread, crackers, or even desserts to share. You will not know until you get there. If you just want soup, there is plenty for everyone. There are also people that have brought in sandwiches that were actually Subway or McDonald’s. If you want to bring something else for yourself, that is fine too. This is a great time to chat with each other and to share how you are doing as well.
If you bring a soup in to share, first I want to say thank you for doing that. Secondly, please write down what type of soup it is and your name. This way people know who brought it and what is in it. I am allergic to mushrooms and need to be careful with things like soups. I am sure there are others that have allergies as well.
